Homes In Sedgemoor Partnership Day by Tracey Armstrong-Stacey

Back in May, we were invited to Homes in Sedgemoor’s Partnership Day at the Canalside. The morning started with registration and refreshments and a chance to catch up with friends both old and new.
There were plenty of stands from different partners which were full of valuable information but also more important…..Freebies!!!

We were welcomed by Chris Moseley, Chair of the Board, Homes in Sedgemoor. Followed by Jen Barfoot, Chief executive.
We then had a choice of workshops to attend, workshop one, which I chose, being Partnership Pledge, compliments, comments and complaints.  First up was Michelle Roberts, Customer Focus Officer. I must say I found her inspirational, such a positive approach to her role.  I was mesmerised by her every word.  Rowan Brookes, HR Manager and Corporate Services, and Jen Barfoot CE then explained what happens when you contact Homes in Sedgemoor and the action they take.

Workshop two was Lean working with Claire Tough, Assistant Director – Neighbourhoods, Paul Barry, Assistant Director – Property, and Darren Clayton, Income Manager.  How can we work smarter, better and offer greater value for money?  What do we need to be doing now and in the future?

I attend workshop three.  Better Together.  A discussion led by Claire Tough, Assistant Director – Neighbourhoods, Paul Barry, Assistant Director – Property, and Angi Lewis, Community Investment Officer, about how working together benefits local communities now and in the future.  This was very interesting and talked about *community enablers*.

Workshop Four.  Benefit to Society.  Chris Moseley, Chair, and Jen Barfoot, CE, explained why homes In Sedgemoor are supporting the movement to change what others think of social housing.
There was a very busy Q&A session with Jen Barfoot barley getting a chance to come up for air!  She really did earn her lunch…..and how delicious it was!
After lunch there was a session hosted by Avon and Somerset Police, which unfortunately I could not stay for.
