One of the many perks to my job has to be travelling to different places and venues. My visit to Bristol Airport was a very insightful meeting with Construction South West where we discussed Planning for growth, Airport development & design and Bristol Airport; phased evolution – but to my delight after the meeting we were taken on a behind the scenes back tour of Bristol Airport. I could not wait! It was all very exciting.
First stop was the new Hampton by Hilton Hotel. I loved its contemporary style, but the huge display of chocolates caught my eye, so beautifully displayed on the bar (as a chocoholic this was pure heaven).
In this hotel, there are 201 spacious guest rooms each with oversized work desks, modern décor and free Wi-Fi. It offers 24-hour Business and fitness centres so perfect for both Business and Leisure.
After a detailed tour of the hotel, we were then taken through (passports to hand) customs. We went through the exact procedure you would normally when going through security, except we got to jump the huge queues. I must say it was very disheartening to see all the holiday makers travelling off to far away destinations….our destination was to the new multi-storey car park! However, what a car park. The roof has been turned into the new coach drop off/pick up zone. On route to the car park, we were shown the two VIP lounges, which were very impressive. I felt like a VIP myself.
Improvements and development are ongoing at the Airport; there is a long-term Master Plan to support the local economy and to act as a catalyst for future growth and prosperity.
