My story so far…

I can’t believe I have just completed my 6-month review – how on earth did that happen? I am having such a fabulous time working here at Under Construction, but now the reality is setting in that my post is coming to an end in just 3 months… But Hey-ho mustn’t dwell, the experience, knowledge, opportunities and fun I have had along the way, have made this journey one that I will treasure for the rest of my life.

This month I was lucky enough to go to the New Mercure Hotel food tasting evening. My Manager and I were so excited. We arrived at the allocated time….only to find out we were the Hotels very first customers! We were warmly welcomed, taken to the bar and were the first members of public to order.  The whole experience was first class, the food was to die for, the staff excelled themselves and the evening was a huge success. As I sat surrounded by the contemporary décor, I felt very privileged to be part of this wonderful Hotels history.

Another day at the office took me to Hatch Beauchamp where we visited HexxHome factory and shown around a Prototype concrete house.  You can certainly see how they got the caption “building outside the box”. The engineering was very clever and I can see this as becoming the way forward in the bespoke housing market. All this happening in Somerset, we do live in such an amazing place.

Whilst on the subject of amazing places…A different day took me to Woolavington to meet with the Salamancca Group, the old RAF site, which by the way is a bigger area than HPC.  There are so many things happening in our area there really are very exciting times ahead for everyone.

County Cricket Ground was the venue for a careers fair we attended. What a delight to see so many enthusiastic schoolchildren excitedly engaging with different professionals to find potential opportunities for their future. I am so fortunate to have been given this opportunity, I love the work and the people but most of all the work ethic it has reinstated in me. I feel like my old self again, not just somebody’s mum or wife, I am Tracey again…
